How to

Cut ribs into serving size pieces; place in a Dutch oven and cover with water. Add salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon liquid smoke if desired; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1-1/4 hours or until ribs are just tender. Do not overcook.
Meanwhile, combine barbecue sauces, ketchup, honey and remaining liquid smoke if desired. Drain ribs and transfer to grill. Grill, uncovered, over medium heat, basting both sides several times with sauce, for 8-10 minutes or until ribs are tender and well-glazed. Yield: 6 servings.

How to Set a Water Softener Timer

If you just moved into a new home and you have never set the timer on your Fleck water softener, then here is how you do it. First of all, remove the plastic cover from the timer assembly. There are usually two tabs, one on each side, that holds the cover on. Simply lift one side of the cover off of the tab and lift it over the assembly.

Now set the current time of day. On the main dial, you should see a 24-hour clock and at the base of the clock, an arrow that’s labeled “Time of Day.” Turn the dial until the arrow is matched up with the current time. Depending on the make, you may have to pull on the dial to turn it.
